Every day we are absolutely bombarded with merchandise and advertising. Whether you are watching TV, flipping through a magazine, or staring at the back of the public toilet door, someone will be trying to sell you something, and the baby and child industry is leading the way. One little fish called ‘Nemo’ proves that you only need to find something that kids love around the world to never have to work again.
Whilst they promise you the world, sometimes in reality the practicality of a product is just not the same. Here I will share with you some reviews on products and toys I have used and hope that you will write in with any reviews or feedback you may have.

CNP - Childcare Products
Through nothing but a cross between a little research and pure luck, I discovered a great Australian brand of products called ‘Childcare’. Many items of which are sold for a reasonable price through Target stores. Below are a few items I have purchased, used, and loved. The thing that I have liked the most about this particular brand is that it is reasonably priced, easy to use and assemble, is durable, long lasting, practical and has stood the test of time.

Many items of which are sold for a reasonable price through Target stores. Below are a few items I have purchased, used, and loved. The thing that I have liked the most about this particular brand is that it is reasonably priced, easy to use and assemble, is durable, long lasting, practical and has stood the test of time.
Sesame Bath Ring
Designed for babies from around six months, or when they can sit up, until around 16 months, this is a fantastic bath tool. It allows you to relax whilst washing them and letting them play. Helps stop slipping and is easier on your bag. Highly recommended
Discovery Stroller
I found this to be a great mid range stroller. Easy to set up and pack away. Good sized storage basket. Canopy and it’s own leg protector sleeve and rain jacket. Very soft seat that folds all the way back, and a hand rail for your baby to hold onto. I can recommend it.
Port-a-cot
Really easy to put up, but takes a bit of practice to put it back down again. Easy to carry around and great for holidays, visiting family, or guests. Be aware though that port-a-cot mattresses are only about a centimetre thick, so you may want to pack a soft sleeping bag for extra padding.
Bear High Chair
I LOVE this highchair. It is soft, with an easy to remove cover for cleaning. Has wheels to move it around. A harness. Adjustable food tray. As well an adjustable seat, both up and down and tilted. I was able to sit my four month in it on the tilt setting so she could see us at the table, then moved up the tilt as she was able to sit. The adjustable food tray is great as you can get it in pretty close which helps with food spillage. I got it in during a Target Baby Bumper Sale for 50%, so at $75, it has been a great buy. You can also lower it down to table height, so your child can use it at the big table too when the are older. I know you can get the Ikea ones for $49, but this beats those un-adjustable chairs hands down. Highly recommended.
Heritage Convertible Cot to Toddler Bed
Another great buy during the Target Bumper Sale. This cot has two setting for when your baby is young, and then coverts to a toddler bed. Which I think is great, as you will get a good three years or more out of it. The wood is lovely, it is strong, and sooo easy to put together. Highly recommended.

Sesame All in One Change Table and Bath
Another bargain pick up. I love 50% off sales. This is a great little change table, with storage tray and compartments. A security belt and it’s own built in baby bath. A good height, fun and easy to clean. And took about a minute to put together. Love it.

Rain Forest Baby Gym
I loved this baby gym. Not only was it bright and colourful and lovely and soft, it had great toys for the baby, as well as both fun music and quiet rainforest sounds for when you wanted to give them some quiet time. Also converts to a tummy time play area. My daughter also liked crawling through it as she got a little older. Easy to wash too.

Fisher-Price Rain Forest Range
I love this range. The stuff is gorgeous, bright, easy to use, well made, and it all matches.

Rainforest Baby Mobile
Another gorgeous product in this range. It has beautiful toys to look at, that move. A night light. Four different classical music settings, which are on a timer. Two sound settings, and it’s own remote, so you can turn it on and off without disturbing baby. A little pricey, but get it on special and you will get years of use out of it. As your baby gets older, you can remove the mobile to leave a musical night light, with big easy to use buttons.
Lullabub Automatic Cot Rocker
This is an award winning Australian invention. Basically the kit includes 4 feet rockers, that clip easily onto the legs of most cots. The lulla-bub has 4 settings that gently rock or vibrate your baby’s cot, helping to smooth them to sleep. Comes with a night light and a remote.
It can be purchased or hired from baby hugs, check their website: http://www.babyhugs.com.au/lullabub.htm. Or you can even purchase it on ebay. Whilst it doesn’t rock the cot the way you imagine, it gives soft vibrations, similar to what your baby feels when being rocked to sleep in the car.
The best thing I liked about it, was that I was able to manually rock the cot, which was great when my little one stirred, or was going to bed, and needed some soft rocking to put her to sleep. Not cheap, but worth it if it works for you, especially if you plan on having a couple of kids. Has a pretty good resale value on ebay too.
