Beauty Hints and Tips

Homemade Toothpaste

Mix bicarbonate soda and lemon juice

Oily Skin

Blend half a cucumber until smooth and apply to the face for 15 minutes.  Rinse, and follow with a lemon juice and water toner.

Itchy Skin

Apply almond oil to eczema or oily skin

Soft Skin

Add a handful of oatmeal to and old stocking and tie under the tap of your bath.  As the warm water runs over it, the bath will turn a creamy white and provide you with a great soothing and skin softening treat.

Tired eyes

Place slices of cold cucumber over each eye and put your feet up and relax for five minutes.

Rosewater

Soak rose petals for a few days in water.  The water will turn a brownish colour as the scent from the petals soak into the water.  Remove petals and place scented liquid in a bottle.  This is a fun homemade and safe perfume for young girls to play and experiment with.
