Aloe Vera
Keep an aloe vera plant handy. It is great from everything from cuts and scratches, through to burns and dry skin.
Bee Stings
Try tea tree oil or an onion cut close to the root
Insect Bites
Again try tea tree oil, toothpaste of a concoction of aspirin and equal parts methylated spirits and cold tea.
Another way to stop the itching is to place some freshly boiled water onto a cloth and hold it on to the skin for a few seconds. Just have the cloth as hot as you can stand, the hotter the better, but be careful not to burn yourself.
Bruises
Bathe the bruised area in witch hazel or a weak infusion of lavender flowers and leaves.
Removing Splinters - Pain Free
Buy a cream called Ithacammol from your chemist, it is a black drawing ointment. Cover the splinter and place a bandaid over it, and leave over night; or
Cover the splinter in Vicks Vapor Cream, cover with a bandaid and leave overnight; or
Make up a glue like paste with bi carb soda and water, cover the splinter with a bandaid or bandage and leave overnight. (beware there may be a little swelling as the bi carb tries to pull out the splinter)
