QLD’s Gold Coast
We all know that the Great South East has an abundance of beautiful beaches along its coastline, as well as a host of beach side and hinterland activities. Our very famous corner of QLD, has two major Holiday/Attraction areas. The Gold Coast and The Sunshine Coast. One about an hour South of Brisbane City, and the other about an hour or so North.
Personally, I love them both, as they both offer a different beach side experience. On this page we will explore getting around the Gold Coast with a bub... Of course

With kilometres of pristine beaches, theme parks galore, restaurants, shopping and 100’s of family fun activities, it is no wonder that The Gold Coast is ‘the’ playground of the South East.
B.C (Before Child) I actually spent most of my summer holidays on the Gold Coast and after moving from my home town of Sydney, actually spent a couple of years living there before moving to Townsville, and then finally Brisbane, so I can definitely say, from first-hand experience, that the Gold Coast is a great place to visit. (If not live).
However, since having a baby, I now have to look at the Gold Coast through new eyes, and am now learning about it, and discovering it in a whole new way. Instead of bar hopping, fishing off the back of a hired half cabin or going crazy with the rest of the world during the Indy Car Festival, I am now on the lookout for family fun, parent’s rooms, and places I can get with the pram.

My first stop is one of my favourites the ‘Northcliffe Surf Club’. I love this place not only for its cold beer but for its “AMAZING” beach front views. I visited the club recently for the first time as a mum with a pram. The first great thing I noticed is that they do have a lift inside the club especially for prams and wheelchairs. All you need to do is ask at Reception and one of the staff members will unlock the lift and take you up.

I was also pleased to find that whilst they did not have a parent’s room there is a change table, sink and room for a pram inside the Disabled Toilets. The Club also has highchairs and will set them up for you at the table if you let them know when you book.
This is a really nice place, for Mum and Dad, to recharge, have a nice meal and enjoy a great view. Just make sure you take your little one something to entertain them, or try to time with a nap. Even if you don’t have time for a meal, just stop in for a beer or a coffee and grab a window seat.
Highly Recommended – Just remember to book on popular days and times.
Arts and Crafts Markets – Broadbeach
On the first and third Sunday of each month, you can visit the Broadbeach Markets from around 8.00am. There are over a 100 stalls with items ranging from arts and crafts, to clothes, jewellery, skin care etc. The markets are set up in the Kurrawa Park between the beach and the Broadbeach shopping centre, which means aside from wandering around the markets you, can also check out the Broadbeach shops, take a stroll along the esplanade or have a picnic in the park.
Having the shopping centre next door, means you have access to toilets and parents room, and if your little one gets restless you can let them have a run around in the park, or take them down for a splash in the water.
Recommended - A nice Sunday out
