Finding Child Care
Whether it is before or after school care, vacation care or long day child care you need it is important to get your name down on a ‘wait list’ as soon as possible. Some centres charge a small ‘wait list’ administration fee of around $20 which is non-refundable and does not give you any priority over placement.
With some wait lists sitting at three years in some places, if you want guaranteed childcare you almost need to put your name down three years before you even fall pregnant. So basically if you want to get in somewhere, register as soon as you can.
Whilst you will find hundreds of centres simply by doing a quick web search or opening your yellow pages, there are a few sites that allow you to search your local area for available centres and carers. To help save you some time we have listed a few sites below that you may find useful.
